IN-Person, On-Site at the Historical Society of Baltimore County (Almshouse).
Description: Since its founding in 1634, the colony and state of Maryland has produced many notable and important historical icons and legends that helped develop Maryland into what it is today. In this course, students will examine and historically re-evaluate the lives, accomplishments, failures, and impacts of some of the most important, but often forgotten about American Icons and Legends within the history of Maryland. Topics to be covered include a historical examination of each icon’s life and what drove them to do what they did, a historical discussion of each icon’s accomplishments and how it helped improve the state of Maryland over the course of history as well as their failures and how their failures affected the state of Maryland over the course of history, a historical evaluation of each icon’s impact on Maryland history, society, and culture, compare and contrast legend and myth from established facts witnessed through Maryland history, and more.
Registration Fee (Cost) per student: $73 for students 60 and over. $99 for those under the age of 60.
