Affiliate Organizations
HSBC’s affiliate organizations are those it is in regular contact with in the pursuit of like-minded interests, or those that it hosts jointly sponsored events, tours, and presentations with.
- Friends of Texas, Maryland
- Louis S. Diggs Research Center for African American History, Inc.
- Baltimore City Historical Society
- Preservation Alliance of Baltimore County (formerly Baltimore County Historical Trust)
Affiliate Policy:
The Society invites more specifically focused historical organizations to join under the Society’s umbrella where we can share organizational skills and strategies. To join the Historical Society of Baltimore County as an “affiliate organization,” a letter of intent with proposal for future cooperation must be forwarded to the president of the Society with a copy to the administrator at HSBC’s headquarters:
Historical Society of Baltimore County
9811 Van Buren Lane
Cockeysville, MD 21030
The Board of Directors will act on requests within sixty-days of receipt.
Benefits:
The benefits for an organization in affiliate status with HSBC might be use of the Galloway Room for meetings and events at a nominal fee, adjusted membership fees, board member contacts, inclusion on our website, in newsletters, space in our quarterly publication, History Trails, when available, as well as on our social media outlets.
An additional benefit for smaller affiliate organization is that they have a home without the myriad complications involved. If it does not already have one, affiliate organizations should also consider applying for their own 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporation to advance their independence.
