Maryland Lynching Memorial Project – Baltimore County Coalition

As we begin Black History Month, the Baltimore County Coalition of the Maryland Lynching Memorial Project is looking for people who many know something about Howard Cooper’s lynching.

While the murder happened more than 100 years ago, there are people alive today who may have heard stories about this awful episode passed down from their relatives or others with knowledge of these events. These recollections may prove to be invaluable to the Commission’s inquiry. To see a list of names involved and learn how to help, click HERE.

The Coalition is also holding a Racial Justice Poetry contest, with a cash prize, open to all Baltimore County 8th graders. For more information for students, as well as support resources for educators, click HERE.
